Personal Development
Anyone who would like to pursue taking classes but is not interested in credit towards a certificate or diploma is welcomed at HMI. Personal enrichment and transformation are the back bone of the program. Students who enter into HMI for Personal Development will not have to apply to the school, however ,they will have to pay all the associated fees. Students will be taking courses by audit status and will not be required to take exams or complete projects. It is expected that all audit students will fulfill the attendance requirements, weekly reading and homework. If a student chooses to participate in a pathway program, he/she would be required to go through the regular application process and fulfill all the for-credit course work.
Certificate in Pastoral Ministry
The certificate in Pastoral Ministry is a program that allows students with various ministry objectives to acquire and engage with curriculum for either personal enrichment or for a focused ministry objective. This pathway is intended to serve as a foundational experience to God’s Word, Theology, Doctrine, Christian life and ministry. This program is helpful to those students who have been called to secular vocations, but who desire to obtain ministry skills in a Spirit-filled environment. The Pastoral Ministry pathway is also a stepping-stone for those students who are preparing for vocational ministry and are pursuing a diploma in Church Ministry. (All courses in this program are required in the diploma pathway). Students will select an area of emphasis for this pathway based on the following ministries:
- Work Place Ministry
- Mentoring/Coaching
- Pastoral Care
- Prayer Ministries
- Missions
This program requires a minimum of 28 credit hours of which 27 hours will be in the core classes and at least one workshop or intensive for 1 credit in the area of emphasis. Students who are enrolled full-time can complete this program in one year.
Diploma in Church Ministry
The Diploma in Church Ministry provides training for a broader scope of ministry opportunities. The diploma offers a solid grounding in Bible, doctrine, and the practices of ministry within a Spirit-filled environment. With a broader educational component, the curriculum, training and mentoring enables the students to formulate a biblical worldview and mindset for life. The program allows the student to focus on an area of emphasis which will best prepare them for the ministry to which the Father has called them.
